How CHPS works

When the Center for Health Professional Schools starts work in a country it always begins with a dialogue with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education to determine what the needs for health workers and the current status of the health professional schools. We then reach out to the schools to determine their interests, needs, and goals.

 

CHPS leverages the strong desire of health workers to help one another and to train the next generation of caregivers.  The majority of our work is carried out by volunteers all over the world, in high income countries and low- and middle-income countries.  Our staff support the volunteers to ensure that everything they do is of highest quality and everything that is done is contextualized to the country economic, cultural, and health system context.
